Next thing you know, you’ll have Jeremy Clarkson, James May and Richard Hammond over here filming Top Queer
So many gays on TV now its easier to name the shows that don’t have them taking over. On a completely separate topic by the way, I want Dónal Óg off the Sunday game panel, serious.
My take from this is that, if you happen to be gay, the higher ups among the gays dont want you to: be a guard, work for RTE, work for a corporation, bid on a house, be an Israeli, have any reservations about immigration, justify deportations or wear any sort of rainbow flag.
Other than that, though, work away.
I see one of the gays got awarded 20k for getting a text from his boss in a restaurant saying happy birthday you auld queer with a load of smily emojis. Handy number being a gay, id say the financial opportunities are endless.
Which restaurant?
Queer is not longer a term of offense apparently. It’s been reclaimed and is now a phrase to describe those who are unclear about their true sexuality
That’s a bit much … the boss must have been on good terms to have his number and feel like he could/ should text him on his birthday and use very informal language … someone wanted a handy pay out. I call fags, fags all the time - queers, queer … and neither word seems to be offensive anymore.
I get anti- Limerick rhetoric every day in work — maybe I need to take it to a solicitor ?
Yesterday, on behalf of tfk, I asked a member of the @glasagusban clique about what queer means these days. He gave me this handy guide.
Queer
Queer is an umbrella term for sexual and gender minorities that are not heterosexual or cisgender. Queer was originally used pejoratively against those with same-sex desires but, beginning in the late-1980s, queer scholars and activists began to reclaim the word.
Questioning
The questioning of one’s gender, sexual identity, sexual orientation, or all three is a process of exploration by people who may be unsure, still exploring, and concerned about applying a social label to themselves for various reasons.
Never put anything in writing, even a text. the golden rule
Didn’t name it but said it was Galway city in paper
Agree and it was clearly in jest. The victim claimed he was traumatized in work for months after
Can you still call them poofs?
his human rights were violated, also they may be an issue with GDPR
Asexuality falls under the LBGT umbrella. You could but you’d be insulting yourself
No it doesn’t.
That’s discrimination.
Asexuality flies under the banner of LGBT.
It should really be LGBTA at this stage
It does not.
