This season is way better. The coach isn’t an absolute cunt for a start. But it’s even bleaker than usual. It’s as much about the gentrification of Oakland as anything else. They also aren’t Able/allowed give scholarships so there’s a lad who’s homeless basically playing for them. Literally his only hope is to make it at football. Grim place the US unless you are living the American dream

I was watching earlier and thinking it was like Season 4 of the Wire. The kids never had a chance

The Edge on BBC iPlayer is well worth a watch, particularly the second half.
Really good.

This isn’t exactly a sports documentary but I didn’t know where else to put it.

I try and imagine what it must have been like to be a Falcons fan that day. The closest I can get is the Niners 2012/13 seasons, which at the time were hard to take, but in retrospect we weren’t good enough. Falcons weren’t just good enough, they had effectively won like Limerick in 1994.

The play calling to get themselves out of that late field goal range… The stupid offside… it must haunt them.

I think a big difference is that the 49ers have already won plenty of Super Bowls. The Falcons probably never will.

This was on BBC4 last night - enjoyable watch and gives a great insight into Russia after the fall of communism.

I watched the QPR four year plan last night. It’s absolutely hilarious from start to finish. Your man flavio Briatore has lived some life.

Naomi Campbell and Heidi Klum amongst his conquests.

Yep he’s some ticket. The documentary is hilarious. The bit when he sends a message to the side line to bring on a lad and he scores the winner is hilarious.

Definitely worth a look.

Was good but timid enough …naturally with his son as interviewer it was more about the Ferguson family and his illness …there was no real hard questions asked …

I see what you mean, I enjoyed it all the same. I wasn’t expecting him to be grilled. Don’t think there’s exactly any scandal or subject to grill Fergie on is there?

I thought he was honest enough about the illness and showing what he wrote down in the hospital. Having a cut off Rangers was also enjoyable.

Well his son won’t ask anyway …regards controversies defo something to ask about fall out with McManus and magner and impact it had on united in hindsight …yeah that was great interview after cup final win over rangers …he was seething that they didn’t hammer rangers …
