Yep, doesnât look too serious though. He had been at fault for Cardiffs goal as well.
Estonia keeper Sergei Pareiko left one goal in for Wisla Krakow yesterday. A header at point blank range, not his fault. He looked comfortable dealing with ground shots throughout.
Do you go watch Wisla regularly Balbec?
This year I do, my lads are old enough to go so we got season tickets. Works out at about 6 Euro a match, kids get in for 25 cents. Good way to get them into the habit. Wisla playing poor enough this year although they did beat Fulham last week. Only a couple of Poles on the team.
Is the hooligan situation in Poland as bad as Danny Dyer makes it out to be, balbec? My ladâs family on his motherâs side are from RzeszowâŚis there a team from there that I should be supporting?
The great Robbie Keane starts for LA Galaxy in the first leg play-off game against New York Red Bulls.
Kicking off presently on ESPN.
It is probably a bit exaggerated, Thraw but it can be bad. You wouldnât see any cops inside the ground during a match but you will see a number of vans of riot police outside the ground, well tooled up. Usually there are only a couple of hundred away fans and they are corralled into one section. Wisla/Cracovia rivalry is bad in Krakow but incidents tend to happen around town rather than at matches. I was outside Cracoviaâs ground one day and a number of lads were only putting the jerseys on going into the ground, they wouldnât take the risk of walking around towm wearing them. There was a leader of the Cracovia hooligans beaten to death last January. He was tailed, the roads were blocked off and his car was rammed off the road and a crowd of 20 killed him. 20 yards away from a place where I used to live. But the hooligans are used as a front for drug pushing, prostitution etc so it was probably âbusinessâ. CLubs form alliances so if for example Legia Warsawa are playing Pogon Szczecin they wonât fight because they are âalliesâ but if Pogon play Wisla they will fight âon behalfâ of Legia. Mad shit. Sometimes when Poland play internationals, the fans from rival clubs will fight each other.
Rzeszow isnât a football hotbed. there are two teams in the third division, Resovia and Stal Rzesow.
Anybody actually going to the 'Llinn?
Hope we wonât end up regretting appealing this. Sort of surprised anyone from FAI noticed to be honest. From FAI websiteâŚ
The yellow card issued in error to Keith Andrews during the EURO 2012 qualifying match between Ireland and Armenia was rescinded by EUFA on appeal and assigned to Aiden McGeady.
The card was brandished in Andrewsâ direction for a tackle that was committed by McGeady in the course of the match and it was Andrews who was subsequently named in the refereeâs report.
The FAI were left with no option but to appeal the booking of Andrews and while they were successful in this application they had to accept the UEFA decision to assign the penalty to McGeady instead.
UEFA today notified the FAI of its decision and stated they had updated their records accordingly.
Andrews will now go into the first leg EURO 2012 play-off match against Estonia on November 11 without a sanction before his name. But McGeady will now be aware that he runs the risk of missing the second leg of the play-off at the Aviva Stadium on November 15 if he picks up another booking.
The FAI expressed his gratitude to UEFA for dealing with their appeal in such a prompt manner.
I have picked my team for the away leg:
Given,
OâShea*, Dunne, St Ledger, Ward,
Duff, Whelan, Andrews, McGeady,
Keane Š, Walters.
- Kelly to start if OâShea is ruled out with his hamstring injury.
I believe Waltersâ physical presence will unsettle them.
When were you given that job ?
Youâre incredibly irksome at times. No surprise larryduff has had cause to have words with you on occasion.
Bit of Irish interest on show on SS1 tonight - Walters, Whelan and Best along with Delap and Pennant.
what teams are playing mate?
Stoke and Newcastle, 2 of the meanest defences in the league apparently so probably another 0-0 thriller. Marc Wilson also playing left back for Stoke.
youâre better than stoke vs newcastle mate
Ah I know that. Just have it on in the background while catching up on the weekends racing online.
Bit of a thread hijack here, but how is Santon getting on with Newcastle?
Commentator just mentioned he canât get into the team ahead of Ryan Taylor
