Euro 2012 - Other Squads

Have they any options for left back other than Evra? He’s been in serious decline for the last couple of years now.

Gael Clichy

I’ve heard he doesn’t have enough pace to get to the byline and get crosses in. Evra it is.

It’s not even that, he is just shit

Great goalkeeper, the defence is reasonable enough, M’Vila is a highly rated young midfielder and the front attacking four look really talented. Benzema and Ribery are elite players, while Nasri is another very good player, Menez has all the attributes to become a fantastic footballer. I think they’re going into this tournament very understated, for me they are easily a better side than the Dutch on paper.

+1

Sorry Totti, but i agree with the Puke. I would not fancy that French side on paper. I’ve been thinking, could Croatia be a decent price at 50/1? They have a decent unit and could go a long way i think. I can see Italy and/or Spain struggling to get out of the group.

BBC are reporting that Rio Ferdinand is set to be left out of the England squad and Kyle Walker has been ruled out with a toe injury.

I’d pick him ahead of Evra at this stage.

Sad to see another core member of the Golden Generation reach the end of the road.

Would I be right in saying Rio has never played in a European Championship?

Jasper Cillessen (Ajax), Alexander Buttner (Vitesse), Urby Emanuelson (AC Milan), Ola John (FC Twente), Hedwiges Maduro (Valencia), Erwin Mulder (Feyenoord), Nick Viergever (AZ), Stefan de Vrij (Feyenoord) and Georginio Wijnaldum (PSV)

Ferdinand, Walker, Crouch, Richards - OUT.

Terry, Carroll - IN.

That’s just wonderful how Carroll has moved ahead of Crouch in the pecking order despite a miserable season. That goal-line technology FA Cup Final debate did his profile no harm either.

Johnson left back so I presume.

Andy Carroll  knew what he was at bursting into life for two games.

It’s the right call as far as I’m concerned. If Carroll can sustain his form of the last month or so, he has more to offer than Crouch in terms of mobility and generally making a “nuisance of himself”. I would also imagine that his age would have come into it - I expect a hint of building for the future in Hodgson’s squad.

Crouch can barely move, i saw him playing in the flesh one time. He has zero pace and mobility, it’s all about landing it on his head. I can see how the tans wouldn’t bring him as he is garbage. Looking forward to their implosion at the Euro’s, it will be a pure circus.

Not gonna happen with Gary Neville involved, I’m afraid. As Ryan Giggs said on Sky Sports News earlier: “Just look at how he’s impressed on Sky this season…”

Good point mate, i hadn’t considered Neville’s involvement. They’ll proably win the fucking thing.

Is Danny Welbeck any good? Hasn’t impressed me but in the squad apparently.

He is shit.

Frustating enough player. Flashes of brillance but equally can be fairly woeful. The fact that he makes that squad shows the lack of decent forward players in England.
