I know I may be getting ahead of myself here and everything, but this could well be the biggest debacle in a long list of hilarious England failures at major tournaments, all the pieces are falling into place nicely.
2000 - not selected
2004 - banned (drug cheat)
2008 - England did not qualify
2012 - dropped
Amazing that Woy rang Ferdinand with the bad news that he’s omitted as he can’t get on with some cunt who racially abused his brother, then goes and visits some cunt in person to give him the happy news he’s in.
Interesting thing in the Guardian article above that at least one other England player at Man U had planned to snub Terry at the handshake earlier this year.
Ferdinand obviously ran to his mates in the media. Capello made many mistakes at the WC but selecting Ledley King was a big one. No point having a player in the squad that can’t play 2 or 3 games in quick succession.
Picking JT was a huge error of judgement though. Gerrard as captain is farcical
Not so sure about that, Ferdinand has played every league game and most cup games for United since he came back from injury in January, so he’s been consistently there in a busy schedule for half of the season.
Who else do you pick as captain? Lampard, Parker would be the obvious choices. Scholes ( ).
Whatever, they’re the gift that keeps giving, god love them.
I expect that somebody with such huge strength of character as Rio will be doing his utmost to make sure he’s in Rio as captain of England in 2014 and in Rio as captain of Team GB in 2016.
No Carrick trending on Twitter. He is clearly above the likes of Milner, Barry and the Gerrards of this world. Good luck to Phil Jones, Ashley Young, Danny Welbeck and Wazza.
