Ireland are a superpower in rugby football, we are always competitive at the business end of the 6 nations and the world cup, in football, Eire are an international joke, other countries do be laughing up their sleeves when they see Eire coming, āoh hereās the orisih to drink every pub and off licence dry and take their shoes off singing songsā looking for a massive pat on the back for acting the stereotypical oirish leprechaun, a fucking embarssment of a country
Jesus mate, you put an awful lot of effort into your imaginary world. How many times are you prepared to go to the well before somebody bites.
In fairness, we are a superpower at singing loudly when our country is being embarrassed on the field of play. Granted, that is not so something most countries aspire to.
the truth hurts you fucking mick simpleton, go off there with the wife and ātreatā yourself to a new pair of tackies, go on, you ādeserveā it
Iām not in a position nor do I have the need to go for any of the advanced coaching courses yet, as I said Iāve done the initial FAI courses/badges and found them to be quite good. If you take it back to your club along with a bit of commonsense and understanding of the game youād do well by the kids, as you say yourself most lads do it as a box ticking exercise and carry on exactly as they were with kids standing around most of the time.
its unreal the way you can get your point accros
Fathers day mate, what are you doing? Drinking yourself into oblivion on the 8 cans for 2.49 again, same as yesterday, and last weekend
Exactly, you donāt need to, and they would even karger bull shit.
There are many ways to skin a cat. They are trying to dull down coaching. Neo-Liberalism and the PC workd has crept way too much into coaching.
You are right, its largely down to an individual themselves. However good organisations or clubs monitor coaching and donāt allow stupid stuff.
I took a neighbours young lad to soccer training a couple of years ago as the parents were out and he had no lift. They spent twenty minutes (on a cold evening) or more taking penalties on at a time on one goalkeeper, about 18 boys in a straight line standing around freezing their holes off, Iāve seen some absolutely terrible shit, theyād be better off running laps FFS sake.
Can I ask if you are involved in coaching the games/skills Kev or is your role purely as a S&C consultant?
Well you have just made that up. Argentina has > 100k players
Both
They are never better off running laps btw. Never.
How many world cups have Ireland won in rugby?
Tongue in cheek mate, standing around in the cold waiting 7 or 8 minutes to take their hardest shot on the goalie is one situation where they are better off doing laps IMO, maybe Iām wrong?
No being in the cold is stupid. But kicking oenalties is at least working on kicking, placement, pressure situations etc. Of course there is a millon other things they should be doing.
It sounds like someone was told they needed to inject some fun into the sessions and went over board on this process. All training should be fun with the small lads.
the way you explained that concept was unreal
Spot on.
That is incorrect. Argentina have over 100k players and over 400 clubs. They have a vibrant schools scene. Like ourselves they are improving rapidly at underage and have notched up victories over the traditional 20s powers in the last couple of years. Incidentally we both play this Monday in the semi finals of the Junior World Cup.
They beat us in 1999, 2007 and 2015 and we got them in 2003. A disappointing return given over overall head to head but only really 99 is the shocker. They were very good in 2007. In 2015 we lined up against them without 5 of our best 7 players.
Whilst association football is floundering at underage rugby football goes from strength to strength. Itās built on a solid, grassroots pyramid structure. I love an ol laugh at Munsterās finances but the gas thing is theyāve only got into that situation because of building a new asset which the IRFU cover for anyway. The IRFU bring in more money than the GGA and FAI and have built solid infrastructure.
Harsh on Ward I would have thought. Coleman and Clark were worse. OāShea probably deserves more than a 4 too. Iām not a fan of his but thought he was our best player by a distance yesterday.
