Heroic performance today.
Fucked that one team is playing on a whole fucking weeks rest and the other on 5 days. That is fucking bullshit.
Disappointing but another good effort.
That 1st half fright could really inspire them to kick on & win this out now.
I don’t really have any complaints. The referee was fine.
They have far better players.
But we played some really good football in the first half, made them work their collective bolloxes off to win, rattled the fuck out of them, and that’s as much as you can ask for in reality.

Could have won it. But they murdered us in the second half. Succumbed to tiredness as much as anything in the end.
It’s just tournament football. Such is life. Couldn’t ask for more. 2-1 was lucky enough, the French were great in the second half. They just have a better touch.

Conan had the whole freedom of that side of the pitch. It was lije we were playing with no left back or retreating left midfielder.
Whatever about McClean being stretched, it was the blaze attitude to giving Griezmann too much space ( totally unmarked ) was the killer blow. Such a pity for McCarthy as his 1st half performance was very good, but it does really call into question his mental toughness & ability to concentrate on his sole job as a defensive midfielder.
I think its fair. They won their group.
France had to play well to beat us.
Does every stadium in every sport do this shit of pumping out mundane pop music and drowning out the atmosphere of the crowd at the end of games these days? Sickens my hole.

Wouldn’t disagree. I thought Payet and Giroud were excellent in that 20 odd minute spell after half time. Payet really quickened their play while Giroud got the better of our centre halves and pulled them out of position and we struggled to deal with their movement from that
I don’t think he was told or was alone in poor positioning, time and time again the French had loads of space and time out wide in the second half. The French changed things and we were naive in the way we reacted.

A day or two extra is one thing, 3 days is shit scheduling.
We looked ragged once they scored. Was all about keeping them out for the 15 mins after the break and letting the French punch themselves out. Once the pressure was off them they opened up.
They are dreadful at the back at the highest level.
Sure they have no idea who the team could be. Could have been from any number of groups.
