Euro 2016 - Ireland v Italy

Wales have the best player in the tournament in Gareth Bale and some high level EPL operators with elite clubs in Ben Davies, Aaron Ramsey and Joe Allen. They didn’t Platini’s charity.

Are you agreeing Norn Iron did then by dropping them from the conversation? Thats good at least.

Ok, moving onto the principality, you’re saying they didn’t benefit from the expanded tournament, really?

No. As I’ve already said Northern Ireland were one of the 9 qualification group winners. Who’s to say how the draw would have panned out if it was just 16 sides. Wales, Iceland and Northern Ireland would all have been there on merit in a 16 team tournament. Eire wouldn’t have made a 16 team tournament so Eire are certainly benefactors of the 24 team expansion and the dilution in quality that goes with it.

Who’s to say indeed. What we can say is that all teams benefited from the expanded tournament. All teams.

that was perfectly clear the first time kid. again i love the way you use solid facts to back up the point you are making, some posters find this so unusual that they need it repeated once or even twice.

I agree on all your points bar dilution of competition. I remember 16 team tournaments being total shit. At least at groups stages.

7 out of the 14 players that played for Ireland last night played league of Ireland football.

The same league that the champions of it only receive 100K in prize money while the FAI head man receives 300K a year???.. That stat you’ve just given is amazing and in spite of the FAI if anything i’ve just posted here is correct.

Give it a like then you tight cunt.

Predictably unpredictable

A remarkable statistic, fair play to whoever is running the FAI, he is obviously working hard and earning his money,

All about the men on the ground, no multi millionaire tax exile can take credit for that

Delighted to give that the tenth.

Long, McClean, Coleman, Hoolahan, Ward, Murphy and?

Quinn

Correct he played for pats.

This is a bizarre post, they should be commended for not being hooligans? It obviously means a lot to some people, especially in Dublin, much less so in the country but plenty of die hards there too. Doesn’t mean I have to fall in and pull on the green jersey. I’m entitled to my own opinion, if they beat France that will be an achievement. It’s also rank hypocrisy that when the rugby team, who are overblown too, beat somebody it’s derided on here, west Brits, no one gives a fuck or was trying etc, but when the soccer team beat an Italy team that wasn’t trying your basically not allowed to mention that (you don’t mention them)
