Euro 2016 - Ireland v Italy

Italy (probable): Sirigu; Barzagli, Bonucci, Darmian; De Sciglio, Florenzi, Sturaro, Thiago Motta, El Shaarawy; Zaza, Immobile

That Italy team should have enough for Ireland.

Italy never feared Eire.

Maybe Coleman gets in that team but on club form only. :cry:

Is Bonucci not on a yellow?

I would have given Bernadeschi a run-out given his impressive club form.

I can see this ending 1-1.

As good a chance as Ireland will get.

Is that with De Sciglio and Florenzi as wing backs?

Apparently Coleman will be captain if O’Shea is out.

We can win this, all it takes is a typically Irish gritty performance.

All it takes are goals, but I don’t see where they are coming from.

If Slab plays.we win

A bit of luck. Just keep hammering the cunts and firing in crosses from Brady and Coleman. Eventually something good happens. Look at Croatia today. A last minute 1-0 will suffice and the Italians can say they at least tried.

If Coleman makes it into the Italian half I’d be surprised.

You haven’t been watching then. He created the only goal we scored.

The only time he got anywhere near the Swedish box. Which goes to show what he can do when he gets forward, but him getting forward has been woefully lacking. Which is why I keep banging on about playing Christie and shoving Coleman up to right wing.
The only hope I see here is either Hendrick or Brady shooting from outside the box. We won’t get near the Italian box, especially if Wes isn’t playing either.

You’re getting a bit hysterical. We need to contain them and hit them on the break. Its a long 90 minutes and Coleman can do a fine job at FB and get forward occasionally. We only need one (1) goal.

The Little Pharaoh is slated to start on the left.

Coleman doesn’t do a fine job at FB.

Okay so last 16 opponents if we win are either France (in Lyon) or Croatia (in Lens)? There’s also an outside shot of us meeting the winners of group F if we beat the Italians by 3 or so I reckon.
Could potentially meet Portugal or even Hungary then (in Toulouse).

A 3-0 win tonight is the most favourable for that reason, they should aim for that :grin:

So is it something like this?

Sirigu;
Darmian, Barzagli, Bonucci, De Sciglio,
Florenzi, Sturaro, Thiago Motta, El Shaarawy;
Zaza,
Immobile
