16 Irish born players in that squad. That’s pretty high by our standards I’d imagine?

That’s a relatively old squad on the face of it.Nearly half the squad would be over 30.

Brady, Hendrick, Christie and Duffy would be the only ones under 25

Long and Randolph also

Long and Randolph also what?

Both of them are 29

Apologies, re-read your post, under 30 was what I meant, then saw you had u25

must be short enough odds on us losing 3 out of 3 matchs looking at that squad.

most likely outcome for us is two draws sweden and belgium and a 1 - 0 loss to the equally sh1t italy who will beat us because that`s what they do and we do when it counts.

wtf?

thought you were incarcerated?

Oldest squad on the Euros, for the second successive tournament. Bit of extra experience garnered over the past 4 years should see us right.

I’m a bit uneasy about Monday. Plenty of sound bites about how we’re much better prepared than last time and have a better/more relaxed mindset (rather than the 3-week lock down and double training sessions pre Poland).

But Walters seems to be struggling and won’t train until the end of the week now, if at all. Brady has also missed the last few sessions and Keane is only working his way back. That comes on the back of McCarthy’s niggle and the likes of Arter being ruled out.

Does the management duo’s separate headline generating quotes of recent days cause a distraction? Keane probably pissed the players off a bit but I don’t know.

It seems like it could all be a bit smoother or something. Maybe the management agreeing contract extensions today will change things to a more positive NARRATIVE.

Walters is a big concern. He’s our most important attacking threat and his effectiveness is directly related to his effervescence. We’ll be hugely blunted if he doesn’t play or if he’s only plodding around out there.

Brady appears to be ok, twinge in his back picking up his daughter at the weekend, but back to full training tomorrow. There doesn’t seem to be any definitive description of Walters injury and it’s a bit clouded in mystery which is very worrying.
What’s the story with McCarthy?

If we can just get a draw Monday it’ll keep us interested right to the end.

A win would be huge, I reckon 3 points with a solid goal difference would be enough to go through

At what stage during the competition will Roy jump ship?

He survived Fota, we’re grand.

Three 0-0 draws gives you about an 85% chance of going through.

Informative. I’m bored off my head here so I’m going to look at the betting today.

What do you like the look of? I’ve backed Croatia more than once at these sort of tournaments to outrun their big odds. They’ve some midfield with the likes of Modric, Perisic, Rakitic, Kovacic.
