What time is kick off?
RTĂ just led their sports news with a Robert Karlsson birdie. FFS sake.
This could be the beginning of a shit weekend for the green jersey
7.45
Anyone going to the 51?
Nah few bottles if Erdinger in the fridge. May as well drink the same beer as our new ubermeisters
Rumours that Ward is starting with Brady on the wing.
Team named - contains 7 Irishmen surprisingly.
Given; Christie, OâShea, Keogh, Ward; McCarthy, Hendrick, Hoolahan, Brady, Walters; Murphy
Hon Slab.
Itâll be some testament to the management if that team can get anything out of tonight.
Very interesting team. TFK exclusive in the left back spot. Surprised that Meyer isnât involved. Murphy is better suited to playing up front on his own than Long who just lacks too much basic footballing skill and intelligence. Good bench option though.
Did Ward play in the away fixture?
Obviously weâre short in lots of areas so itâs easy to identify potential problems but:
- Big ask of the two full backs, neither of whom are regulars in the side. 3 of the back 4 are very much second choice and our keeper is not a commanding presence.
- Hendrick and Brady are probably the two players that have improved most over this campaign and have been transformed from fringe players to dependable regulars. Itâs a pity that both are playing slightly out of position tonight. Itâs not like central midfield is unnatural to Hendrick or that left wing is unnatural to Brady but theyâve been good at adapting to our system and you wonder how suited Hendrick will be to the more defensive role.
- Iâd have preferred to get Meyler in there instead of Hoolahan and have a proper trio. I donât think Hoolahan offers much other than numbers in midfield. Meyler is a decent player, and Iâd prefer his solidity than the opportunities Hoolahan has to link with Murphy. I think we have wide players who are both capable of supporting Murphy, I think we may be overdoing it with having Hoolahan too, or else we may just be curbing the natural game of our wingers.
Fortunately, Strachan seems to have gone for his old strategy of being conservative, to the point of cowardly, when it comes to big games. Fletcher starts up front, Whittaker is left back.
Surprised but delighted to see Slab start, he has hardly played this season due to injury.
The Shane Long fan boys must be sickened
Neuer,
Ginter, Boateng, Hummels, Hector;
Ăzil, Kroos, GĂźndogan;
Reus, MĂźller, GĂśtze
Not sure if itâs a surprise or not to see Hector start but theyâve gone for a very big back 4 - might be with a view to coping with Walters.
Slab Murphy and Whacker Walters will soften these fuckers up, soften them up good and proper.
Martin getting a little testy with Tony OâDonoghue there.
Very hard to warm to any side managed by Poppy OâNeill and the Walkers leprachaun but it is NY on impossible not to shout for a side that containers a warrior like Slab.
He is gonna horse into these German fuckd
I always thought, certainly in his Celtic tenure, that OâNeill seemed to get great performances out of his team when he was particularly snipey and on edge post match. He was very much unwelcoming to that Cark cunt in the pre-match interview there.
Iâm now expectant.
