Portugal have one advantage going into the final and that’s an extra night’s rest. Also a real possiblity that France v Germany could go to extra-time and penalties.

In 2004 they lost at home to a team which had a night’s less rest than them and had to play extra-time (albeit only one half), though.

But all things being equal they should be smashed in the final.

He’s done well so far, figured it out game by game. Neutralised the Benzema issue and got a bit lucky with not having to deal with Ribery. Sometimes momentum gets behind you as well.
