Euro 2020 thread (Part 1)

I’ve always had a soft spot the Magyars. What a tradition - Sandor Kocsis, Ferenc Puskas, Nandor Hidegkuti, Zoltan Czibor and Florian Albert.

The history making Laszlo Kiss in the 1982 Word Cup was another favourite.

And the great Sandor Puhl in the 90s.

Sandor Puhl passed away recently. There was a short obituary in one of the UK Sunday papers two or three weeks ago. Possibly the Observer.

Gingivitis?

France are struggling here

Like that Sunday afternoon in Lyon all those years ago

Brutal defending under that kick out. Fair play to Mbappe though.

Jack Charlton style goal there for the French.

Don’t let the ball bounce, you are told that from u-10 onwards.

Laszlo Kubala was Hungarian but from a mixed ethnic background. Only played three times for them as he fled the country in 1949 after it became communist. One of the greatest players in Barcelona’s history.

Ireland hammered these Magyars the other week, Kenny’s Boys would have went deep in these euros.

Well it was a 0-0 victory, like Scotland’s in Wembley last night.

If France don’t get a winner here the prospect of them going to Wembley to play England begins to move seriously into view.

An England team playing primarily off the backfoot like Hungary are doing here could be a very different proposition to the England of last night.

That looked like a penalty.

Germany have 3 home games ffs.

I fancied Hungary to win today as posts above will attest, France still haven’t got going.

Hit him Didi

Richard Sadlier is some pain in the hole. Didi was 10 times the player he was, he should shut the fuck up and listen.

That’s been generous to Sadlier.
