Portugal have been involved in some crazy, high scoring group matches over the years but their knockout games are almost almost appalling to watch.
In the groups I can think of crazy matches against Denmark in 2012, USA in 2014, against Ghana in 2014, Hungary in 2016, Spain 2018, Germany this time.
Then in the knockout stages it’s nearly always 0-0 and penalties or a 1-0 win with a goal scored deep into the second period of extra time or a 1-0 defeat.
Their 2-1 loss to Uruguay in 2018 is almost the only passably decent knockout match they’ve been involved in, at least since Euro 2008.
I’d say they were hugely mentally scarred by the defeat to Germany in 2008 when they were open and got punished.
Renato Sanchez is a class midfield player.
The amount of Caps in this Belgium squad must be a record for any country ever in a major tournament.
About 10 of them must have 80+ caps.
Portugal probably can afford to bring on Fernandes now that KdB is off. Hard to see them making any kind of break through and may have to rely on a set piece. Palhinha is probably walking a tightrope now. Push Sanchez back a bit.

Big TV clash between this match and the Sunday Game at 9.30.
Portugal’s attacks in the first 10 minutes of this half were pathetic, just lumping it up and hoping to get a knockdown for a man following in. Ronaldo is turning creator now in the last few minutes and they look more dangerous.
