@the_man_himself will be fuming when he gets back in

Paolo Rossi didn’t score until the 5th game of the 1982 World Cup. The fickle Italian supporters were advocating everything from banishment to tarring and feathering for him going into that Brazil match.

This wouldn’t have happened without Brexit

Today reminds me of an Apres Match sketch from years ago, around Euro 2000. The virtual Bill drew the juxtaposition between the blowhard Dunphy and the astute Brady. “Well done Liam, who correctly predicted a 2-0 win for England, hard luck Eamon, who predicted a 5-0 win for Germany.”

England always fail, until they don’t.

@Perez2017 is the one I’d be most worried about here. This will hit him very hard.

He’s been caught a few times previously on camera doing similar.

What’s left to beat the English? Belgium and Spain?

Its time we rejoined the Commonwealth and had a right Government once again

England are off to Rome.

Good win for England, Muller had a bit of a nightmare all round, and had the chance to level it.

Quarter-Final v Sweden or Ukraine
Semi-Final v Denmark or Czech Republic
Final v Italy/Belgium/Spain/Switzerland

Italy and Spain, Belgium have no tradition. The Danes could stifle them in the Semis if they get there.

This could be the time for england. They’re a solid unit on the field, hard to score against with an absolute clutch player in Sterling, this really could be it for them.
The courage of Southgate’s convictions

A Pyrrhic victory for England.

They’ll be using Wembley as a morgue by the end of July.

Surprised Gundogan wasn’t brought on to up the tempo. After England had neutralised them, they probably should have got another body in the middle on.

Knuckle deep in his own sphincter half the time that mad gerry

The German defeat to North Macedonia back in March in a World Cup qualifier was telling in the end. A team in need of Flick’s managerial Midas touch.
