A thorough vindication for Coach Southgate and @ChairmanDan for sticking by World Cup Golden Boot Harry Kane. The England captain had a difficult first 3 and three-quarter games, but in true Paolo Rossi style he is coming good at just the right time. The first of two possible Italian jobs is well and truly done.
A great save by Buschchan to deny Harry Kane his hat trick. Would have been the goal of the tournament. But England are not to be denied. Hendo heads home from the resulting corner, his very first goal for England. Even the Everton fans are cheering him.

Tonight would have been a repeat of Bob Paisley liberating Rome from the fascists in 1944 had it been the Russians and not the Ukrainians on the wrong end of this thumping. Russia weren’t remotely good enough to reach this stage however.
The lads seemed to forget England v Germany in 1990 was a World Cup semi final.
