Euro 2020 thread (Part 1)

Reece James can play right midfield to be fair, but the rest can’t even play left back

It seems like a classing case of bowing to media pressure tbh. He probably won’t use Trent, but the abuse that he would get if he didn’t, and with the extra 3 bodies in the squad, means it’s probably less hassle just to bring him.

And if Trent’s form in the squad is way better than James & Trippier, he can then give him a game.

Got it forward fast to DCL and Johnny Foreigner will crumble

It would seem he was basically too scared not to bring TAA. The kind of strong decision maker you want in charge

Jury isn’t out. He’s just a bland workmanlike jobbing manager. Seems a decent sort though, and you don’t have his playing career without a bit of steel.

If you were England manager - would you risk losing the Ratoath Inn ??

Who was left out to accomodate him

He seems to have garnered a good team spirit to be fair.

I do be watching videos of them training and messing around the hotel and he seems like a bit of craic.

Also as a player his International Career was much more colourful and illustrious than his club one which sort of sets him apart in England. He gives them an identity.

The 4 right backs doesn’t really matter in fairness considering it’s a 26 man squad

Doesn’t he play three CBs, and doesn’t he view Walker as the RCB?

It’s actually bizarre the Centre Halves situation there.

Not defending Southgate here, but there are a few factors at play. The Utd, Chelsea and City players won’t be playing tomorrow, plus they’ve got a few injuries. Furthermore, the squad can be changed right up to first game so might as well keep the players match fit in case they’re needed down the line. It’s not the Loins tour where some fat fuck can be supping pints of cider in a beer garden in Limerick and take a call that he’s needed to tog out four days later in the southern hemisphere.

I’d be surprised if Maguire will be ready to play.

Fuck England

Great to see graduates from the famed academy like Conor Coady and TAA make the cut.

Imagine if Ireland had qualified. We’d be mulling over Stephen Kenny’s decision to choose Adam Idah over Michael Obafemi.
