Euro 2020 thread (Part 1)

The Oirish footix are obsessed with the English FA representation

I’d say Southgate was afraid for his life if he dropped “Trent”.

Poland 1 up here in the early throws against Mother Russia

Trent is better than Trippier anyway if nothing else

Trouble with this, Harry me oul segosha, is that basically once they’re out, the tournament will lose any interest as you’ve no dog in the fight. It’s like when manyoo are in Europe. You desperately want them to lose, but when they do, the rest of whatever tournament they’re in becomes irrelevant.

Like mcilroy, you want him there on the Sunday making a show of himself

I like McIlroy, I hear he does a lot of work for charity unseen and under the radar, but that sentiment, yes.

Sounds like Slabhead is touch and go for the early games. Shaw, Stones and Walker as a back three could be an option.

England will probably start with Pickford, James, Walker, Maguire, Stones, Chilwell, Rice, Philips, Mount, Foden and Kane. I think Croatia have a great chance of beating them first up.

I think if Maguire is injured and they want to play 3 at the back then their best bet would be Tyrone Mings. He’s a pretty good player, good in the air and can play a bit. I think if they play Shaw in the same defence as Walker they’ll lack a bit of aerial presence.

They’re fairly mediocre in goals, defence and midfield. They need Bellingham to have a big tournament or else this could all go badly wrong for them.

As our nearest neighbours I presume we are all on the Tan train?? Watching the Scotch get humiliated will be an added bonus.

Scots wont be humilated at all. Have a nice side.

Ah Mings is awful mate.

He has issues with concentration, he makes occasional mistakes but I think he’s the best of a few bad options for England. He’s a big game player and Villa have had some big results this season. Shaw is hardly a world beater.

Mings also made complete shit of Ireland for England and looked like Franz Beckenbauer

If Maguire is injured Croatia will be favourites against England but England should still get out of the group. I’d say Scotland will be happy enough with the tournament if they can just avoid defeat against the aul enemy.

I would love to see the Scots win it. They have my wholehearted support.

Mings is poor, he shouldn’t be in the squad. A good man to do heroic blocks & the like but his all-round game is seriously lacking. Tarkowski is way better than him, as are the two uncapped fellas who got cut. If Mings ends up playing, England will be hurt; he makes Maguire look like Nesta.

Raspadori is the shock inclusion for Italy. I really don’t see it with him but Mancini clearly does. Scamacca and Kean were far better options from the u21 pool.

Coady is even worse than Mings.

Joelinton absolutely murdered Mings when I saw them play this season so a decent striker would do serious damage
