Ye Limerick lads. Crack me up :rofl:

He’s what we would all be if we had the guts to stand up to our spouse/spousal equivalents.

He’ll surely be down the working man’s villa this weekend, baby.

A functioning alco that loves an away day.

He’s tremendous fun.

God it’s a shame what they’ve done to this tournament be Tuesday before we get a good game. Too many teams with home advantage as well.

All the Euro games should bee good. About 16 teams with a genuine chance of winning.

The group phase is largely redundant which is a shame imo.

Only because of the group structure rather than the teams involved.

If it was top 2 through it would be ideal.

When was it their coach said he was leaving after the tournament to join Real Madrid so they sacked him?

Last World Cup.

We’ll get a good game tonight between Turkey and Italy.

Is Faith Terim still over the Turks?

the fella who brought them to 3rd in 2002 world cup is back - they’re a right good outfit

SenoI l Gunes is back over them now. I think the Turks will do well; coming second in the group might actually give them a decent path.

Tough group too. Swiss are always resolute and difficult to beat. Wales aren’t the force of 2016 but they still have plenty of decent players at international level. I’d say the Turks will progress but wouldn’t surprise me if it was a best 3rd place team.

Ya the quality hasn’t been diluted too badly, it’s the fucking three teams from most groups that kills it. Like group F with France, Germany and Portugal would be absolute box office if only two went through

I think Turkey have always qualified from the group any time they have made a major finals in the modern era. They seem to really embrace the big stage.

I’d be looking at Denmark as another dark horse. They have their matches at home and are in very good form of late. They’re very tough to beat, have a world class ball playing midfielder, a good goalkeeper (even if he did punch one into his own net in his last match) and a fairly solid defence. They’re a good solid unit which is what you want at a major tournament.

I wouldn’t be surprised if the big teams are absolutely wrecked from the club season. The gap from the club season has been shorter than usual and the season has been tougher than usual. Travel in this tournament could be a bit mental. Using squad players as much as possible will likely be key. Winning your first two matches and resting players for the third match would be a distinct advantage. I can see a lot of the knockout matches turn into dirges.

Finished bottom of their group at Euro 96 with three defeats. Have done well aside from that.
