Oh no doubt, would be great to see him and the likes of Yilmaz, Chiellini and any other veterans have blinders.

Russia haven’t given any reason for anyone to fancy them since the USSR (Dynamo Kyiv) days. Maybe they have a chance if they can manage to stay in St Petersburg for the duration.

Good World Cup last time around.

Yeah they came very close to being England’s opponents in the semi-finals. Croatia beat Denmark and Russia on pens didn’t they?

The most wonderful time of the year

Yeah but only good considering they were at home for the whole of it although iirc they went into it off a dreadful couple of years of results.
And it’s not an easy draw even with 2 home group games. Finland game could be tasty as fuck. I’ve a mate living in Helsinki and he says the locals can’t wait for that one.
I’ll give Russia pitch black horse status.

They were very good in euro 2008 the time they qualified ahead of England. Arshsavin and Pavluchenko tore Holland apart.

True, had forgotten that.

Where would I read a good in depth preview of it?

Those drummers have never heard of Owen Hart id say.

I can’t warm to any side coached by Roberto Mancini. Johnny Turk is ready and he primed himself well - I expect they get at least a draw tonight

And now Bono has fucking ruined it.

This is bad.

It’s a credit to Bono that he has managed to capture the essence of UEFA through music more than anybody else ever has. The riff is the most UEFAy thing I’ve ever heard.

WE ARE THE PEOPLE.

The cunt couldn’t even bother showing up in person.

Fabregas is a decent pundit. No bullshit out of him
