Euro 2024- Lamine Yamal:Wonderkid

Reminiscent of Tchouameniā€™s goal in the 2022 World Cup quarter-final. England like giving space for the shot.

England will lose to first serious team they meet in knock outs. Serbia needed a fergie time set piece to draw today . They beat a poor team on Sunday with a poor performance

What in the name of Christ is Rice doing playing that out?

'Tis difficult enough to see beyond a Germany-France final.

Spain look the most likely interlopers.

My Dutch is rusty but Guus Hiddink is slaughtering Rice and Alexander Arnold on half time analysis here in the Netherlands.

England have been very poor.

I think the two hosts will meet in final.

England had no control after the goal. Theyā€™re not looking for the ball, controlling things.

Maybe they arenā€™t those type of players but then thatā€™s Southgateā€™s fault, what are they supposed to be doing?

England have had these kind of performances on matchday 2 of other recent tournaments. Scotland (Euro 2020) and USA (World Cup 2022) were classic draws like this too. Recovered to win the group on 7 points on both occasions. Same probably happens again here.

BBC suggesting the heat could be affecting the England team.

The tropical Danes have a massive advantage there

East Germany v West Germany? Will West Germany avenge their 1974 defeat?

Who would Angela support more to the point?

Germany are hosting the tournament in terms of physically. Turkey are the home team.

England on Matchday 2 of major finals:

1986 0-0 v Morocco (Ray Wilkins was sent off)
1988 1-3 v Holland (Marco Van Basten magic)
1990 0-0 v Holland (probably Englandā€™s best performance of that tournament, they were much the better team)
1992 0-0 v France (they were marginally the better team in the worst game of the tournament)
1996 2-0 v Scotland (Jamie Redknappā€™s introduction at half time jump started them)
1998 1-2 v Romania (gentlemanly defending late on undid them)
2000 1-0 v Germany (they won the battle of the fallen giants)
2002 1-0 v Argentina
2004 3-0 v Switzerland
2006 - beat Trinidad and Tobago? 3-0?
2010 0-0 v Algeria (the game where Graeme Souness said they were fucked from altitude training)
2012 3-2 v Sweden (a thriller)
2014 1-2 v Uruguay (Suarez masterclass)
2016 - 2-1 v Wales
2018 - 5-0 v Panama
2021 - 0-0 v Scotland (a parochial little affair)
2022 - USA (USA were the better team)

Trent hooked.

Southgate is Liam Bradying him.

He was absolutely hopeless

2-0 and a very unconvincing win. Couple of late enough goals.
