More black lads on the pitch than in the stands.
It’ll be a shock to Chris Kamara to find himself playing in a Europa League final.
Great header by Bassey there.
Eintracht certainly look to have more pace and spark in attack than Rangers do.
I presume Fashion Sakala will be coming on as a substitute. He caused Celtic a lot of problems in the most recent Old Firm derby.
Some sun burnt gut on that rangers fan
Absolutely deplorable standard. Both sides look like they’re way out of their depth.
The conference final has two better teams in it
Ah they’re soaking up pressure. 0-0 at half-time without conceding a huge amount of clear cut chances hardly can be be classed as out of their depth. I don’t particularly like them as a club but it’s admirable that they’re at this stage at all.
They had a handier path than the conference finalists bar Dortmund who were without Haaland for both legs.
A cagey first half. How are the nerves of the jockos holding up here?
A pig of a game
A final is a final and finals are regularly very cagey. These two teams are in it because they have been the best in the competition.
They beat Leipzig too. Leipzig knocked Man United out of last seasons Champions League. Dortmund was a monumental scalp. Good win against a decent Sparta Prague team in the do or die group game. Braga and Red Star were softer draws alright but an underdog needs that bit of luck.
Beating Utd is nothing to boast about.
Those teams are no Bodo Glimt
Four of the last eight in the 2020 Champions League mini-tournament in Lisbon were in the last eight of this competition.
This is no competition for dummies. It’s big time European football.
Huns tend to do well when they make games stifling & oppressive, like this one. They don’t try to do much in possession, as @Bisto has astutely observed. They have a couple of routes to creating chances - long diagonal from Goldson or Lundstram to Kent on the left or get Tavernier on the overlap on the other side. They look for the second balls and set pieces around the box. And they’re quite adept at getting back into a solid defensive shape/structure when they lose it. They’re one of those awkward sides to play against. I haven’t seen much of Frankfurt (Bill) because I was following the huns’ run but they seem to have 3 or 4 powder puff fucks in the attacking sector. Kostic looks the main threat.
Fair dead atmosphere.
Lepizig are a new franchise like Sevco, yes? Both formed in the fairly recent past?
Interesting times for European football with brand new teams emerging/
