No McGregor (injured) or Abada (Yom Kippur) for Celtic against Betis tomorrow night. Taylor will be out for a while - needs shoulder surgery. Forrest out for another week to 10 days too.
Probably Ralston and Juranovic as full backs. Our midfield will be badly lacking without McGregor. Soro is the obvious replacement but McCarthy probably more suited to trying to keep the ball.
We’re looking a bit vulnerable now with the lack of depth in midfield and without Kyogo’s movement up front.
We could get a real doing tomorrow. Ange has said again we won’t be changing our formation or style for anyone.
That’s ten players who either barely featured last season or are completely new to the club. Only Turnbull played with any regularity and he didn’t feature for the first few months.
We are really light in midfield. At least in attack you can say it’s unlucky 4 or 5 out at the same time and in a few weeks we will be fine but midfield, we are only missing McGregor and have no suitable replacement.
I think Welsh picked up a knock for Scotland Under 21s and that’s why he was rested at the weekend when CCV did well. I’m not sure Ange is Welsh’s biggest fan though. He does seem quick to drop hi.
No attacking or creative options at all on the bench.
Need a big game from Rogic tonight in carrying the ball and linking the midfield with that attack. Hard to think we’ve ever put out a team with fewer Celtic appearances between them collectively.
