Expenses scandal in Britain

Fairly mad stuff going on over there. One MP claimed a ‘gentleman’s club’ as his home and claimed expenses for living in his actual house (which he called a second home).

Who cares? It is only at the British taxpaper’s expense.

Some gas stuff in amongst the claims all right.

House extensions, swimming pool cleaning and all sorts of crap.

fixed that for you

Crazy goings on alright. And they’re all at it, so the media have to highlight it because no party is cleaner than the others.

I fucking knew it :clap::popcorn:

David Cameron showed true leadership tackling the situation. He’s going to make an intresting PM.

Didn’t some lad bill the taxpayer for building a moat around his castle?

The British taxpayer is some mug, bad enough propping up a failed statelet in another country to the tune of billions of pounds, but propping up their own breed of German inbreds who think they’re all scum aswell. Gas lads.

Ah come on now, he was only getting it fixed. Have to keep the working classes out somehow, don’t you know?

There was a helipad claim in there as well.

Some of the tax stuff is more boring obviously but you have MPs who told Inland Revenue they were living in the constituency so they could save on CGT when they sold that house but they still claimed a main residence in London for expense purposes.

One of the MP’s lived in Luton, which I think is about an hours drive from the center of London, she claimed for a second residence in Southampton which is down on the south coast the other side of London. Equivalent to a TD for Dundalk claiming his 2nd residence in Courtown.

That is nuts, St Pancras is only 25mins from Luton on some of the express train services.

and another one had a second home outside his constituency to make it handier for him to go out on the piss and not be recognised by his constituents

Not sure how long more Brown can last with all this. Blears is the fourth minister to resign and she seems well pissed off with Brown. His government is falling apart. Would be good craic to get simultaneous elections in the UK with here if both governments implode. Might be a bit taxing on Sinn Fin though.

Entertaining stuff alright. It took a recession and a whistleblower to expose this so you can imagine how much has been gone on unnoticed over the years. Must be a lot of nervous politicans out there.

Politicans are a strange breed. They seek votes from taxpayers and then steal money from them. No wonder the electorate feel disillusioned. In any other business they would be fired on the spot. Scamming on expenses in some way goes on in every organisation I guess though.
