The Black Country derby, West Bromwich Albion v Wolverhampton Wanderers, two of the founding members of the football league in 1889/89 would be one of the most vicious and bitter rivalries in England.
Thatās something thatās probably lost on Paddy Footix with his endless obsession of mancs and scousers.

I think some Wolves fans have celebrated in the home end and the West Brom fans have reacted to it.

The delay was about 38 minutes there. The trouble seems to be over now. Fingers crossed it stays that way.

I was reading that part of reason that this was such a charged affair was that this was the first black country derby in 12 years. I thought that canāt be right as these two would surely these two would be running into each other in championship or premiership. But the only time they have been in the same division since 2012 was the 20/21 season and there were no fans at either fixture that season.
Shades of when there was shenanigans at West Ham v Millwall in a League Cup tie in 2009. The two meet infrequently.
Ah thatās fucking magnificent.
West Brom would be a tough lot. I was at the Hawthorns on a few occasions. Donāt know as much about Wolves support. Rough as well, Iād imagine though.
Wolves fans were notorious in the 80s. Up there with Leeds.
