Famous Limerick Hurling Supporters

We’re on the cusp of witnessing the rise of the greatest hurling teams since the Dublin Footballers. It’s only right and proper to celebrate the county and supporters that produced them. This humble thread will honor notable people that contributed to sporting and cultural life in the treaty city and followed their team through thick and thin.

Any contribution should include a little bio of the subject matter in true Limerick style and form.

I’ll start with one of Limerick’s favourite sons, Liam Keane.

There was a young man called Liam Keane
He was quite the dab hand with the Scian
He fell out with the Ryan
They left him in dyin
By stabbing him forty times in the spleen

There was once an unfunny cunt called Spain,
who to listen to would give you a pain,
he told jokes to steal a living,
And there failure to make you laugh was a given,
unless you were a gormless sort from Ahane

A rare beauty.

James will be seeking redemption Sunday.

I don’t think you’re following the anapestic meter which defines a limerick there mate

Ye’d have been better off having an omerta
