Good solid win yesterday, we were sh1te but that doesnt take away from the comphrehensive nature of the defeat. cork were very nervous in the first half with the full back line miles off our lads and a hell of a lot of fumbly play but once we missed the goal chances and didn
t put ye away we were screwed.
you would often talk about missed goal chances but the ones we missed were simple ones for club players let alone intercounty hurlers. the sunday game highlighted nashs performance (correctly) yet the five best chances we had did not involve a save from nash collins, honan, mcgraths failure to rise, ryan just before half time and mcgrath after it.
o`farrell and horgan were excellent in the early period of the game when cork needed to get settled.
looking over that game again limerick supporters would probably be happy enough that they will get goal chances but the fact is brian murphy will be in the inside line the next day and cronin will start half forward or maybe midfield which will make the supply of ball more secure for cork plus corks confidence will be sky high. The clare full back line has huge pace which allowed them to cope with cork and prevent goal chances limerick don`t have that kind of pace. on the other hand if muclcahy and tobin get the chances we got the ball will be buried.
How mAny of my “potential” list that Tan ridiculed lined out yesterday?
4-5 played anyway I think off the top of my head. What thread was that on? Cork 2011/12?
Will Lorcan be back the next or what. I’d put him back half-back at this stage, would be decent.
Joyce for sure, Conor Sull, McDonell were mentioned. Sexton played Intermediate.
Lehane and Cian Mac were possibly mentioned as well. The irony it was Clare we bate.

TBH you’d still have doubts over most of those lads.
Instead of who? Kenny? He was arguably the weakest if the half backs, but still got on some good ball.
Thought Egan was excellent after a shaky start.
How could you have doubts? The thrust of my post back along was these guys had the potential to play for Cork. McDonnell was exposed, but anyone would have been. The rest of the backs had man marking jobs, a full back is always open when that’s the arrangement and you don’t play an extra back.
The clare lads have lovely hands

Egan/Joyce/Lorcan imo. Kenny’s legs are gone and his use of the ball is at best pretty uninspiring.
Surprised Rob O’Shea and Hartnett didn’t come on actually.
Regarding McDonnell, he didn’t look match fit. He blatantly gave up a few times in the first half that he would never do if he was 100% imo.
Very silly. I called a long way back that Clare’s full back line is weak. Limericks however is very good.

I like Joyce at midfield for now, he gets away with some if his limitations there.
How big is he now? It’s very hard to judge in tv? I never saw him as “big” but I did see Egan as so, looked nothing between them the last day.
Bar Bulger Clare’s backs are average enough, which I’ve also been saying all year.

Egan is still a couple of inches bigger, his posture is shit though so he looks a little smaller than he is.
I’d have more faith in Egan than Joyce, inferior hurler though he is. Egan is tougher, more confident and has more about him imo.
Murphy will just shadow Hannon the next day, so if Hannon starts inside again Joyce will be back to 6.

Do you see any other changes?

i presume you’ll be posting here now again after the “incident” on that other site over the weekend…
I think Bugler has been overrated on the basis of finishing a few games strongly. I wouldn’t pick him over Wayne McNamara for a wing back slot, though I’m sure plenty would disagree.
