No, I won’t be in West Clare, pal. I’ll be starting on the South Circular Road, Limerick City- Should I head for PortLaoise and turn off or go through Thurles and Urlingford?

I always found Tipp Town - Cahir - Clonmel, the best way myself.
Tipp Town is the only bottle neck. Youll tipp away the finest other than that.

Very slow through Thurles, and worse down from Portlaoise.

What are you driving. Take the M7 to the Borrisinossery/Rathdowney turn off. Then head through Borrisinossery and at the far side of the town on the old dublin road take the right for Ballacolla this then leads straight onto Durrow, Ballyragget and then Kilkenny.

Alternatively you can go through Rathdowney and then either head to Ballacolla or Freshford and onto Kilkenny.

Give or take it is a 90 minutes or so of a spin

@ChocolateMice if your not in a little 1.2 litre ball of shit I would recommend that when you turn off the M7 head for Rathdowney and take the second left(Pike of the Rush Hall) about 800 metres after you leave the motorway and go cross country and go through Knockaroo. This will cut ten minutes off the journey and means you avoid going through either Borrisinossery or Rathdowney. It brings out out on the road to Ballacolla near some Abbey

Limerick, Tipp Town, Cashel, Up the M8 to Urlingford, Freshford & then into Kilkenny. Best road & quickest route imo.

@Big_Dan_Campbell also gives a decent option but you are basically going Up North to come back South East.

Tipp Town to Cashel, you must be joking. You’d be better go through Newport and over the mountain to Thurles.
Come on Harry that’s the worst road in Tipp.

Limerick, Oola, Tipp Town, Cahir, Clonmel, Callan, KK City. This is the only way to go
