Readable?

Sub-titled I’d say…

Was going to tag yourself and fagan also, but it seemed rude.

The only book I have left in the house that I haven’t read is the Cristiano Ronaldo biography by Guillem Ballbag. I’ll have to read the cunt of a thing during the lockdown but I’m not looking forward to it.

I don’t remember who gave it to me but they must not like me very much

The Miracle of Castel di Sangro is a great read

Probably more top 10, than 5 but fresh in the memory after rereading it.

Boys Will Be Boys: The Glory Days and Party Nights of the Dallas Cowboys Dynasty is also a cracker if you’re into American Football and debauchery.

Boys will be boys is very good too.

There was a book doing the rounds a few years ago chronocling the woes of Limerick hurling but the name of it escapes me now. Unending Hardship or something like that.
The lads will fill you in with the title tomorrow…

A while since I read it but The Secret Race by Tyler Hamilton is brilliant too
Only a Game? by Dunphy also

Val Dorgan, Christy Ring: A Personal Portrait (1980).

Keith Duggan, Cliffs of Insanity: A Winter on Ireland’s Big Waves (2012).

Keith Duggan, House of Pain: Through the Rooms of Mayo Football (2007).

Keith Duggan, The Lifelong Season: At the Heart of Gaelic Games (2004).

Jim McGuinness, Until Victory Always: A Memoir (2015).

Could not leave out Val Dorgan but also want to make special mention of this absolutely wonderful book:

David Smith, The Unconquerable Keane: John Keane and the Rise of Waterford Hurling (2010).

Better than breaking the chain. I preferred Tyler Hamilton book to breaking the chain also. The rider better than both.

Thanks. I’ll start on a Keith Duggan one.
I read one book about Christy Ring and packed it in after about two thirds, which is something I would very rarely do. Mustn’t have been that one.
I’ll get Friday night lights also.
@Fagan_ODowd, I wonder if you’d be kind enough to add yours?

Kings of September is a brilliant GAA book

I read it. It was better than average, but far from brilliant.
