Yes, there about two years ago with the missus. Great spot and plenty to see around it like powerscourt and Glendalough (sic). I think it had the dubious honour of the dearest pint of 2013 for me, other than that it was a great choice.

It has 5 stars over the door, no idea why. I’d be struggling to give it 4. We had a litany of disasters there lately but apart from that it’s not a great hotel. Breakfast is good though.

Seafield in Ballymoney which is a bit remote so hotel bar or Orphan Girl are your only options out there really. Plenty of places in Gorey which is a 10 min drive away.

Don’t know much on the golf front but Bunclody is the guts of 45 min drive while the Seafield course is on your doorstep so assume that would be more attractive given its likely to be pissing rain.
