I was out at the heritage park last summer, itā€™s nice enough and a big step up from Craggaunowen, good for a few hours, about a ten minute drive from town Iā€™d say. I had one of the best Italian meals of my life in a place in the middle of the town but I canā€™t remember the name of it.
Not an awful lot to do but if youā€™ve never seen the 1798 stuff youā€™d knock a bit out of that as well, great beaches out the road, have you looked into Whites hotel?

Iā€™m gonna take an educated guess that this is the place close to Cistin Eile on South Main St. @Bandage will know the name.

I just booked it, kidā€¦ Iā€™ll do a little touring but this is more R&R than touringā€¦ @Bandage can you confirm name of this Italian restaurant?

Iā€™m only guessing - http://www.nonnarossawexford.com/

Is it Nonna Rosa? I think itā€™s called something else now. Bocca?

Donā€™t know, thatā€™s why i am asking.

Sounds bang onto me

Would explain why I thought the same restaurant had moved to a different part of the street last time I was down there.

Cheers kid.

I canā€™t confirm name of it. Does it have green frontage, chaps? I like Cistin Eile myself, pals. Pints in the Sky & The Ground and Simon Lambert & Sons then.

What type of establishment is Cistin Eile, mate? Is it casual or fine dining?

Excellent, honest to goodness, tasty fare. We donā€™t do fine dining in Wexford.

If youā€™re staying in Whites youā€™re in the middle of the town walking distance from all the nice restaurants. Check out The Yard and Cistin Eile. Simon Lambert & Sons is the local craft beer pub, their own brewery in the basement. Its run by Nicky, who put the shits up one of the Quaids in the 2001 AI Q-Final by running in on top of him about 5 times in the first 2 mins.

Thereā€™s the Opera House too. Not sure if you ever heard but we have the National Opera House in the town. Its a little known fact about Wexford town.

Nonna Rosa sounds right for the Italian restaurant but Iā€™m not 100%, seemed like the real deal, up there with Campo do Fiore in Bray for best Italian meals Iā€™ve had.

It was Timmy Houlihan in goal that day. Nicky gave him a nervous breakdown.

So Cistin Eile etc are on South Main St and itā€™s separated with North Main St by the Bull Ring. Nice pub there called Mackenā€™s / The Undertaker. Aside from The Yard, thereā€™s a decent Thai place called The Vine and Greenacreā€™s is a general type nice restaurant on NMS. Thereā€™s also The Strip which has various pubs like The Crown, T Morris, Maggie Mayā€™s and Loch & Quay. The Stores is only one street over too.

Enjoy our cobbled streets and secret tunnels down to the marina, pal. Find out where the Faythe Harriers weekly lotto draw is on and go and meet some legendary GGA people. A history nerd like you will probably find plenty of stuff to check out. Havenā€™t been to Heritage Park since school days so take your chances based on review sites. Various little trips out of town to beaches and stuff - Curracloe, Rosslare Strand, Carne, Kilmore Quay etc. Treat your princess to a romantic meal in Mary Barryā€™s in Kilmore Quay or The Lobster Pot in Carne.

Check out the Visit Wexford site.

Donā€™t bother unless you want to spend the cost of 3 meals in 1

Itā€™s not that expensive is it, we had a great lunch there a few years ago, the whitebait was memorable. Itā€™s a nice spot.

More expensive now for less quality food.
