Faroe Islands v Ireland

Only two counties play hurling though.

Which 2?

Is this qualifiying campaign wrote off as such already?

Should we realistically be aiming for the following Euro championships and start building with a much younger squad now? If Long, Meyler, Coleman, Clark, and Brady can get game time now we should be able to build for a much brighter future.

I know a team needs experience but O’Shea for example does not look up to it anymore, credit to the man he has played for Ireland whenever asked but surely Clark deserves a chance now?

In the general scheme of things is a poor result tomorrow night a blessing in disguise for the future good of Irish Football?

This will be my last post on the matter but you are some fucking clown. Ferguson didn’t win anything last year so he too is a shit manager and just in case you’re stupid enough to invoke it, the Charity Shield doesn’t count.
Your a funny fucking retard as well. Cody has managed a team to 4 in a row, he has managed to introduce new players and leave out non performing players, and kept the hunger going, year after year. No other manager has done that and I hate to say this Ferguson as well has done the same. Keeping their teams competing year after year. Unfortunately as a Dublin supporter Gilroy couldn’t do it after winning an All Ireland and this has nothing to do with this thread, it was that retard appendage that brought it up.

Unfortunately as a supporter of the Republic of Ireland Trapatoni has never done it and now he has been found out and the old cunt is hanging onto his paycheck with all the strength he has while managing to drag our team deeper into the shit and at the same time managing to piss off any other player that could play for us, who might add a bit more of a selection on bench or on the team other than McShane. The manager of the Republic of Ireland needs to get as many players as he can involved into the squad give them playing time in friendlies to see how they do and progress them from there. how many players has he managed to piss off that wont come and play for us because of the way he has treated them? Its not like we have a big pool of players to pick from in the first place.
What are you on about, you clown? The debate was about a competitive environment like international football and you were challenged about Gilroy given your ridiculous assertion about a manager being judged in totality based on his single most recent game.

Then when it was clear you’d made a roaring cunt of yourself you changed your argument to hurling and Cody. Sure there’s only two or three hurling teams of decent standard in any year and Kilkenny are the recognised top team in the overall record books - they are not comparable to our status in a worldwide game like football where we’re ranked around 30 in the world.

Only if there is a new manager really. I said after the euro’s that we should write off this campaign an build a good team and squad for the next Euro’s and beyond. I think this will only happen when Trap is gone as he has pissed off so many players now that they wont come and play for him. Unfortunately I have a feeling that the FAI will stick with Trap till the end of the this campaign which will be set us back another decade unfortunately.

This is the worst collection of irish players I have seen in my lifetime.

Trap(p)p performed miracles to get them to the Euros.

This has been a demonstration of poor INTERNETTING from Taz. A very innocuous situation spiralled out of control for him very quickly. With his Kilkenny background he probably felt the phrase “a manager is only as good as his last match” was adding something insightful to the thread. When challenged on the lack of logic of that statement, instead of recognising the bland, Canice Picklington-esque nature of what he’d written, he misguidedly escalated his commitment to his cliche and backed himself into a corner from which he couldn’t get out of, biting on Appendage’s Pat Gilroy bait and entering into a debate in which it was obvious he didn’t even believe his own argument.

I agree with Taz that it’s time for Trapp to go but he has been soundly thrashed here on his reasoning for why that should happen.

LOL.

Team confirmed:
Westwood,
Coleman, O’Shea, O’Dea, Wilson,
Brady, Andrews, McCarthy, McGeady,
Keane, Walters.

Trap explains that injuries affected our ability to compete on Friday: “If you have no the pen, no the computer…can you write? Can you write?”

He comes from Italy
Did well initially
But the more he talks now, one suspects senility
He beat Estonia, and Macedonia, but he hates the football played in Catalonia
His destiny we thought was written in the sand, but it turned out that he hadn’t got a plan

Trapp was winning matches
Trapp was winning games
Trapp was bringing jammy back to Ireland once again
But now Trapp is losing matches
Trapp is losing games
Trapp is bringing failure back to Ireland once again

He don’t aim to enthrall, he gets behind the ball
and if you want an average player Trap has got 'em all
He’s got McCarthy man, he’s got McGeady man, he’s got McShane and Keogh and Green and Ward and Whelan man
His destiny is not written in the stars, he doesn’t like Andy Reid playing guitars

Our time at Euro 12, it didn’t go too well
And now poor Trapattoni’s nearly reached the final bell
We’ve lost to Germany. we’ve lost to Italy, we’ve lost Gibson, Ireland, Andy Reid and Foley
His destiny is not written in the sky
This time next week, will be time to say goodbye

FFS Sid.

I reckon this could be Trap’s last game in charge.

Depite what some morons on here reckon.

He’s lost the dressing room, even the fuckwits in the ole ole brigade have started to turn on him.

Hopefully some compromise pay off can be negotiated and Trap can leave with dignity, he deserves that.

It would be horrific if he has to stay on until the end of this campaign.

Paddy Power ‏@paddypower

We’ve suspended betting on Giovanni Trapattoni’s reign as Ireland manager ending before 2013 after a flood of bets…

O’Dea starts? Fuck right off.

A lot of this anti-mcgeady commentary is tainted with a bias against those born in Scotland of Irish descent. A guy can be born to Irish parents in Barnsley or somewhere like Mick mccarthy and be accepted no problem but heaven forbid a guy is descended from emigrant Irish in Scotland. Mcgeady played below his best on Friday but questions on his nationality cheapen any argument about his ability. There used to be grounds for arguing that in the past players declared for Ireland cos they couldn’t get a game for england. Townsends comments re England back this up. Mcgeady is many things including a shit crosser and ball striker but he is no footballing mercanry.
Same applies to mccarhty but he seems a lot shitter.

the conditions here  wonderful scenes when they score

Clark, Long, Meyler? Bright future?

I cant agree with that at all. In theory all professional footballers are mercanries when you think about it, anyone who believes in loyalty in professional sport most of all football at the highest level is an idiot.
MacGeady is just a very poor footballer, we all accept that, and so what we have a poor team right now and he is in it. he is also a spineless little prick and that i think is what pisses most people off.
