No 1 for me is obviously Fairytale of New York (probably for most)
Greg Lake - I Believe in Father Christmas is a close 2nd though

Fairytale of NYC myself aswell.
Oh Holy Night for this child.
Band Aid, the original version. Like A Spaceman came travelling too.
Spaceman Came Travelling is muck
Agree on Band Aid. Shakinâ Stevns and Walking in the Air as well from the commercial ones.
I actually do think O Holy Night is the best one. Donât know if Bandage is taking the piss but I genuinely think thatâs the best Christmas song.
My favourite Christmas song is Slades Merry Chrismas Everyone or Jona Lewie/Stop The Calvary.
Fully serious about O Holy Night. I always thought it was a belter and Iâve loved it even more since it featured in Home Alone 1 some years back.
I also love that song that goes âda da da da da da du du du da da da da da da da - I wish I was at home for Christmas.â
Whatâs that one called again?
Thats Jona Lewie Bandage.
Donât know. I must admit to quite liking Chris Reaâs Driving Home for Christmas. Thatâs not what youâre thinking of?
Oh holy night! The stars are brightly shining,
It is the night of the dear Saviourâs birth.
Long lay the world in sin and error pining,
Till He appearâd and the soul felt its worth.
A thrill of hope the weary world rejoices,
For yonder breaks a new and glorious morn.
Fall on your knees! Oh, hear the angel voices!
Oh night divine, Oh night when Christ was born;
Oh night divine, Oh night, Oh night Divine.
Led by the light of Faith serenely beaming,
With glowing hearts by His cradle we stand.
So led by light of a star sweetly gleaming,
Here come the wise men from Orient land.
The King of Kings lay thus in lowly manger;
In all our trials born to be our friend.
He knows our need, to our weakness is no stranger,
Behold your King! Before Him lowly bend!
Behold your King, Behold your King.
Truly He taught us to love one another;
His law is love and His gospel is peace.
Chains shall He break for the slave is our brother;
And in His name all oppression shall cease.
Sweet hymns of joy in grateful chorus raise we,
Let all within us praise His holy name.
Christ is the Lord! O praise His Name forever,
His power and glory evermore proclaim.
His power and glory evermore proclaim
Lokk how many artists have recorded it - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/O_Holy_Night
Driving Home for Christmas is a great tune aswell.

Well how many people - some of those could not be labelled artists. Michael Bolton for instance.

Ah right, cheers Shan.
In terms of more modern music then itâs definitely Fairytale of New York for me.
The Pogues released Fairytale in 1987.
Jon Lewie released Stop The Cavalry in 1980, its not exactly ancient.
Mud - Lonley this Christmas, is another one of my favourites

No, but it is more modern, which is what I said.
Most Christmas songs are like most Christmas films and are a pile of shite.
East 17âs Stay now was is a cracker though.
Only 2 songs Iâve liked are Stay and Fairytale of New York. Though I do remember driving home from Shannon with Bandage in the back seat and a random Malaysian lad in the passenger seat while they played Driving Home for Christmas every second song. Got my lump in my throat at about Mountrath. Then I told Bandage to get back in the back becuase I couldnât see the road in front of me.
All the birds in my office love the Mariah Carey travesty of a christmas song âAll I want for Christmasâ
Its the most wonderful time of year by Andy Williams deserves to be up there I think.
Saw a âcountdownâ of these last night.
I didnât realise the Jona Lewie/Stop The Calvary was the song it is. I think itâs awful shite.
Johnny Mathis - A Child is Born. Now thereâs a Christmas song.
Slade was number one followed by John and Yokoâs Merry Christmas (War is Over) - quite a decent effort too I have to admit
