This guy strips these cops bare here. Watch it to the end, he absolutely destroys them. lt’s really very funny.

He’s an arsehole who seems to have taken one semester of law and thinks he’s Johnny Cochrane.

Funny though. I have no time for these types but he really does wind them up rotten.

Brilliant!!

Seinfeld was better this time around for me. Not as dated as I thought it would be.
The UK Office is still a good watch. Limmys show as well.

They are the gold seal standard of comedy. They were great men. They were both of equal stature, each of them as equally funny, none better than the other. As a child the sprint to the television when they came on and the convulsions of laughter are great memories.

Frasier: What was wrong with that one?
Martin: She was casing the joint.
Frasier: Oh for God sake!! She spent two years with Mother Teresa!
Martin: Well if I was Mother Teresa I’d be checking my jewellery box.

It’s amazing how good comedy actors can lift a script and make it funny.

The underlying writing is key though. If that’s off then nothing works.

Top five comedies for me, in no particular order

Father Ted
The Office (uk)
Seinfeld
Curb your Enthusiasm
Always Sunny in Philadelphia

I thought I would like it after Seinfeld but Curb Your Enthusiasm never quite did it for me.
What about “Purse”.

I could easily name a top three, which would be Fr Ted, I’m Alan Partridge and The IT Crowd.

The last two slots could be filled by any number of shows, and I doubt I’d pick the same two from one day to the next.

Alan Partridge would make my top ten with ease. As would Cheers and Frasier. Never got into IT Crowd

Curb is my number one. Always and forever.

Brasseye and Seinfeld probably next two for me.

A friend picked up tickets for the Alan Partridge show at 3 Arena next April so I’m heading to that!

I never got into Cheers. Fraiser was decent alright.

In general I prefer comedies from this side of the pond for whatever reason, I’d probably sooner watch the likes of Blackadder and Only Fools and Horses

Cheers is aging like fine Cabernet

Forgot about Partridge

…you never watched Cheers or Frasier prior to 2021???

Phoenix Nights was decent.
