Fair enough pal
Jimi Hendrix is definitely the greatest guitar player of all-time.
The Edge, Slash and Rory Gallagher are also right up there.
Nick McCabe of The Verve is hugely underrated.
That was Eno on production.
Jack White seems to have a lot of street cred when it comes to chancing his arm on the guitar.
I wouldn’t be a huge fan of his music I have to say.
Mike Moya
David Pajo
Rodrigo y Gabriella
That is fucking amazing.
Might not be trendy to say, but Brian May is an outstanding guitarist.
Agree rating. Some might call it guitar masturbation, but holy shit. Play it back again and it honestly sounds like two guitars at the same time. Beautiful tone and phrasing too.
He’s Australian. One of his fellow countrymen is on a par. Will post him next.
@flattythehurdler - Bruce Mathiske. I got to see this guy about 10 years ago in Dublin. Mesmeric.
That echo-delay sound is very nice. My old man had a few shadows records and I think they got me into the likes of Dick Dale and even Chris Isaak. East-Bay Ray from the Dead Kennedys had a similar sound too, albeit very punky.
Fuck trendy. When your 4 year is jumping around playing air guitar and shouting the words to this, you know you’re on to a winner… (I still cannot listen to this without playing air guitar - lovely riffs, but not even close to May’s best efforts)
James Calvin Wilsey - master of reverb, echo and delay - and a huge deal of gratitude to Hank Marvin.
Great track.
David Gilmour on The Fletcher Memorial Home. One of his best solos. Kicks in at 2:12.
“Did they expect us to treat them with any respect?”
