It’s an interesting one to see where it ends up. A global 15 per cent corporate tax rate would see the battleground move to individual tax rate to attract people. For now people working outside Ireland causes tax issues for the MNCs I think.
Medium term it will become an employee retention/attraction tool - come to us and you can work where ya like. Up to now the conventional wisdom was young people wanted to work in cities.
What was it 50 odd seats they were expecting to get in the last election? I wonder if they had’ve got those numbers would Martin have looked to form a government with SF?
Not a hope. Like it or not FF do actually represent lots of people in society. They would have huge pushback and warnings on doorsteps from their faithful about going in with SF.
He’s some dunce this fella. How secure is his seat in Sligo @anon67715551 ? I think he used top the poll there or close enough so should be safe enough?
One more year of Mickey Martin before Leo rotates in. I don’t know how the government has lasted this long to be honest. Well I do. Covid is saving them.
He’s useless, Donnellys useless, Harris is the master of every brief but his own. Norma Foley hiding. Varadkar is just going around the place pretending he isn’t in government. And Eamon Ryan sure a pure telpus altogether.
Coveney and Pascal are the only two I’ve any time for.
Michael’s stint as Taoiseach might be the ultimate phyrric victory.
