FIFA World Cup 2026 - North America

Over an hour isn’t it? What’s the foxboro like?

Yeah about an hour south alright. There is train routes there so you’d hope that is used more and that some sort of fan fest around the stadium gets fans out earlier. Class stadium though and facilities around it are great too, even if it is slap bang in the middle of no where.

Met life is a class stadium too. Fine location for the final. Like cheasty said, I’d rather it than the over done sofi or jerryworld, not that I’ve been been to either of those.

Theres the big stadium, massive carpark, a kildare village style centre full of restaurants and bars which is actually unreal. A hospital, the training centre for the patriots and NE revolution. Outside of that a few small businesses and a trailer park across the road. About an hour from Boston. Some set up but they’ll need to sort out public transport. Not many hotels out that way

The set up is unreal. I was there on a non match day. Its closer to provenance Rhode Island than Boston. Dunno what the frequency of the train is tho, its mainly tailgating. I was heading that way aftwr a Pats game, few hours after and the traffic on the other side of the freeway towards boston was crazy. All 3/4 lanes a car park

I wonder have the Americans considered they’ll have to set up public transport to the stadiums. Foxboro hosted a load of games in 94.

He only has to last another 21 months. Seems doable.

Particularly when your juicing and the refs are bribed

Settle down petal

They’ve made some cluster fuck of qualifying process with this nation’s league shite

“All you need to know…” but you probably still won’t have a notion.

Lads out with white boards, excel charts and chat gbt and they still none the wiser.

Hard to know who we’d prefer from the second seeds; obviously they’ve all done better than us in recent years.

Turkey & Hungary probably the ones you’d want to avoid on recent form. Norway have Odegaard & Haaland so, even outside of anyone else, are likely to be a threat.

Can cheasty or aertel semi crunch the nations league numbers on this one??
Might mean a win in the nations league play off in March could almost guarantee us a play off?
Surely most teams ahead of us will come at least top 2 in their group especially if we win that

‘With the dozen group winners qualifying automatically, the four remaining teams will be decided via a 16-team play-off involving the 12 group runners-up and the four best-ranked Nations League sides who failed to place in the top-two in their qualification group. But let’s not worry about that now.’

Where in a relegation play off

I know but obviously getting relegated puts us below not getting relegated in the nations league standings.
If we retain our place in our current level id say that would not leave a huge amount of teams ‘above’ us.

No.

It had completely escaped my attention that this draw was on today, but it’s welcome news to go some way towards compensating for the loss of Champions League draws.

I’m looking forward to Gianni Infantino thinking he’s being an easy banter merchant on stage and coming across like a total creep.

My favourite part of these draws is when a team is pulled out of the bowl, the camera pans towards a luminary in the crowd looking very stern. With Champions League draws this was usually a former player now a club “ambassador”. Emilio Butragueno fulfilled this role superbly for Real Madrid. As soon as their name was pulled out of the bowl, the camera would pan to him and he’d pretend to look purposeful, he’d be on the text machine right away, pretending to give the impression he now had adult’s work to do. “Florentino, we’ve drawn Borussia Dortmund. I strongly suggest the home leg be played at the Bernabeu and we travel to the away leg by plane rather than bus.”

“Top work, Emilio. That’s why you’re on the big bucks.”

It was widely known that Emilio Butragueno’s heartbeat would slow down when he’d see Real Madrid’s name be pulled out of the bowl at a Champions League draw.

Gareth Southgate was really good at this for major finals draws. He was FA Man. An AMBASSADOR. John Delaney bestrode this sort of stage like a colossus as “our luminary”. He would be holding court. Taken seriously in the corridors of power. Because he was part of the corridors of power.

Could you imagine Marc Canham holding court at an event like this?
