Thank you. I saw Tommy Martin’s tweet alright lamenting the lack of a “World Cup Breakfast” type highlights show. As we said last week, social media clipped match content has killed off these shows & I haven’t watched a highlights show like Match of the Day in over a decade but I’d make an exception for the World Cup, especially one where games will be taking place overnight.

I think an hour on RTÉ2 every morning at 10.30am with Peter Collins in the chair showing 8/10 minutes’ highlights of each of the previous day’s 3/4 games, a little to & fro with a couple of panelists & then some chat about the themes/issues/controversies/talking points coming out of the tournament generally & a look ahead to the next slate of games would be a real winner.
