AC Milan were pretty poor before Gullit and van Basten arrived in 1987 and they didnât win the league in that decade until 1988.
I think they were relegated in the early part of the decade for financial irregularities?
Hateley won the French league with Monaco in 1988 alongside Glenn Hoddle and under the great Arsene Wenger.
