Football Trivia

Jesper Blomquist played for both but I think he would have predated Moyes?

he never played under Moyes in premier league…moyes got rid of him as soon as he took over from wlater smith in the summer …

correction- moyes took over in March so maybe he did play…

bloomqvist it is…

Arjen Robben is one anyway. Missed a penalty in last year’s final.

Not in regulation time.

Sorry, clumsy wording on my part. What I meant to get at in the question was players who had missed a penalty other than in a shoot out. You’re right about Robben missing it in extra time.

In response to another query, a penalty initially missed but scored on a rebound is classified as a missed penalty. Don’t think Steven Gerrard the man in question though.

Not on point but David Healy played under both Moyes at Preston and Ferguson at Old Trafford. He wouldn’t have played in the Premier League under Moyes and not sure whether he did under Ferguson.

That’s the sixth name I have.

Xabi Alonso is obviously one then and Mehmet Scholl who had one saved in the Bayern Munich- Valencia final in 2001 is the other.

I was about to type something smart and condescending about Bayern and penalties in European Cup finals not going well together, then I remembered Effenberg also scored one in that match and Bayern won on penalties.

Only English team that Manchester United faced during Sir Alex Ferguson’s 26 and a half year tenure and failed to defeat?

Southend?

Correct

Who Is this?
English International with 19 caps who has played champions league for two clubs whilst also winning a premier league with one of these clubs. He now plies his trade in League 1.
