What ???
Wengers Monaco. New Zealander Winton Rufer scored the goals that beat them for Bremen
Meadow Lane?
I’m going to make a wild guess now and say its the home ground of Mansfield Town FC. The One Call Stadium
That’s a serious mugging off for Jeff
Was there no rugby on the mainland today Geoff ?
They must be badly stuck for players. The fella coming out fourth in line is easily u-12.
Fellow I shared with in London many moons ago from Mansfield sent it to me there earlier. They were hosting the might of Yeovil today. They claim to be playing soccer at Field Mill since 1861.
Even though Notts County are the oldest club in the football league, founded in 1862, their current ground Meadow Lane is only a 20th century creation. A bit like Eire soccer squatting at Lansdowne Road, Notts County relied on the generosity of Nottinghamshire Cricket Club hosting their matches at Trent Bridge for many years, prior to the construction of Meadow Lane.
Erm, thanks for the info I suppose
Name a manager who in the course of the same season managed two clubs in the top flight
in England, with both clubs getting relegated at the end of that season.
Mark Hughes
Stoke where he started last season were relegated alright but he kept Southampton up.
Owen Coyle?
Bruce?
Klopp?
Billy Mcneil managed it in the mid-80s with City and Villa if football before Sky counts. He wasn’t the only one that period either.
Yes. Billy McNeill achieved that ignominious feat with Manchester City and Aston Villa in season 1986/87. When Aston Villa sacked him at the end of the season, he walked straight into the Glasgow Celtic job.
And promptly won the double.
Probably not the last manager of Glasgow Celtic to return there for a second spell and win a double after failing to cut the managerial mustard elsewhere.
