Preston have won loads of em
Iâll go Ipswich
Benito Carbone and his shaved legs
Sir Alf got the England job on the back of leading Ipswich to the title in the early â60s.
The fat keeper and his big belly
Kevin Pressman?
Chris Woods
Bolton were in a lot of those real old classic FA Cup finals. Nat Lofthouse was a big player for them AFAIK. I think they played in a famous final against Man City and I think that they played in the White Horse final.
Oh yeah Iâm aware that they were a Premier League club but they were relegated around 2001 maybe just when I was taking an interest in soccer so I donât actually remember them in the Prem.
And @Julio_Geordio having the cheek to dismiss my Preston suggestion! Had a look there, Preston were champions of England twice, their most recent win 130 years ago.
I didnât go for Preston because I knew they had Tom Finney but I see that Finney never won the league for Preston, they won it before he was there.
That and the 3 clubs were all founder members of the league.
They were beaten by Blackpool in the âMatthewsâ cup final in 1953 despite Mortensen being the actual hero.
Craig Johnston played for England u21 and was called up to the senior squad, though never got a full England cap, but he was obviously eligible for England.
Maybe Fagan needs to rephrase the question.
I think Craig could have played for 4 or 5 countries .
This came up the other night as I chatted to a Man Utd supporting friend of mine and the Paul Ince interview on Monday Night Football was on. The Newton Heath green and yellow strip with black shorts - he reckons that Utd never won a game playing in that strip. I called bullshit. I do recall that they wore it in the League and FA Cups if they were away and a clash of kits as the refs wore black and they couldnât wear the all black strip.
Is this true, did Utd win a game in the Newton Heath strip?
Iâm sure they won plenty in that kit. Thatâs a cup win featuring a Denis Irwin special for @Little_Lord_Fauntleroy
All I can see is Beckhamâs head. Is this some mistake?
