This is a thread to log all your favourite self-flagellating tweets by footballers.

This is a genre which is currently growing steadily in popularity, where players who are aware that they are viewed by many supporters as overpaid, lazy and shit, make a transparently self serving attempt to win back some PR brownie points with those supporters by publicly and grovellingly appearing to accept some blame for their own shit performances.

While the thread title specifically mentions footballers, please feel free to include any similar tweets by other sportspeople.
