A 6 is a holding midfielder.
8 is probably every other type of midfielder.
I don’t particularly like using those labels but couldn’t be arsed typing the long version.

Everyone who knows anything about football uses it.
The number 10 position and false 9 or out and out number 9 are common terms as well.
To real football fans. Footix wouldn’t be aware of such terms though.
Defenders aren’t known by their numbers
