Footix of the Day

100%

There are a good few footix who also travel and support the national team as well. I know of several.

This reply reminded me of a certain IFSC Brigade member

I didnt think I could have loved Kevin more, then he called Liverpool cunts in front of Didi whose silence suggests to me that he agreed with him. Didi of course is a City man through and through

They’re long past having any shame

Wearing Diego Jota Liverpool shirts to the game on Thursday was bizarre.

You’re talking about a couple of thousand there versus the usual footix of nearly a million. I know plenty of lads that go Irish away games that still wouldn’t cross the road to support their local teams.

yup, same here. Eejits.

My footixing got the better of me yesterday after a busy series of family & festive events (cc @neilld @StoneCold).

We attended a wedding on Friday on my current life partner’s side of the family, back to Dublin at all hours, up early on Saturday morning for the last U6 GAA session of the year where Santa made an appearance, off to a separate Santa experience straight from there down in Kildare organised by work & then up early for a 9am U8 soccer match on Sunday.

I had 2 windows to complete my scheduled 90-minute weekend long run, either 1pm or 5pm, essentially either side of Wilfried Nancy’s first game in charge of Celtic at 3pm. I threw on my gear & was about to head out the door at 1pm when the rain started to fall heavily. I checked my weather app (not Carlow weather) & learned that a burst of heavy rain had arrived but would pass by 3pm. With the recent DCM & a further soaking to the bone the previous Sunday fresh in my mind, I decided to wait until after the match.

So I sat at home & watched it in my running gear, a partial John Terry tribute, intending to bolt out the door at 5pm. But I got increasingly irate as the match slipped away from Celtic & became quite agitated & ratty. I could feel my heart rate quickening & then there was a slump at full time. I tried to cajole myself to get up but I just couldn’t. Instead I remained on the INTERNET, pored (spelling?) over the match in great detail & called loads of Celtic players cunts on different message boards. Then I played a game of Monopoly with the family before the kids went to bed.

I’m now aiming to get my 90-minute run done today during my 1-hour lunch break.
