Also is it more difficult to track sharing on Rapidshare than the likes of Vuze

The code is on the site itself, you just have to fill it in, its only there as a defense against bots I would assume.

RShare is much safer then torrents, in that your not actually d/l’ing a software program on to you computer with the former as you are with the latter.

Seriously, $50.00, or something like that, for a rapidshare account is one of the best value for money things I have ever bought. My TB drive is slowly but surely filling up.

Safer legally or safer for your pc?

Don’t think it’s all that legally secure once you’ve paid to use it. Obvious records of everyone who’s used the service then.

Its not illegal to use a service like Rapidshare though.

But it is illegal to download illegal (copyright) content from it. Like the way it’s not illegal to use torrents, but it is illegal to share copyright content on them.

Well that goes without saying. Its just the way your previous post read it sounded as if you were saying it’s illegal to use the service at all.

i need to get me a new harddrive currently have my 2 x 250gb full and bout 150gb of downloads on laptop too… damn wii games take up a fair bit of room…

Have a 1TB meself, its a monster. Pixmania is your boy.

I’m going to buy a networked one with a couple of TB storage space so I can run it like a file server. It can be annoying having to connect and disconnect the hard drive from the laptop.

True enough, dont have my home set up for that just yet though and dont see myself staying in teh current accom for the future. So my 1TB with remote control works grand for me.

pixmania is great…

Ya, I’ll be moving into a new place in the next few months and there’s a bit of electrical work to be done so I’m going to get some CAT5 run through as well.

And heres me thinking wireless is the way forward :stuck_out_tongue:

Ah ya but you can’t beat the direct connection. I have a roll of CAT5, the walls are going to be ripped down, so I may as well fire it in. Don’t have great speeds out in the sticks anyways so the wireless can be patchy at times.

Cable connections are obviously superior to wireless alright. Looking at getting the 20mb broadband into the house which would be savage. We’re still backward here though, Virgin is offering 80mb broadband in the UK which would be amazing to have.

I have the 20MB broadband at home but only have it in a couple of days so can’t really assess it yet. Seems quality though. Gaff is all networked up as well so looking forward to taking advantage of all this soon.
