Download something like Bittorrent or Vuze software, and then you can search for individual torrents for pretty much anything. It is pretty slow over here though, things like Rapidshare are probably better or Soulseek for music, but torrents are useful for porn or American TV shows.
Jaysus Ben, I thought you would have been proficient with torrents. That site has the Bachelors Walk Christmas special available for download. I’ll eventually sign up for it.
Seeders come and go, its surprisingly fast still to be honest. COnsidering its IRish content its to be expected to have slow DL speeds so I’d be happy enough to leave it up on Vuze for a few days if it meant getting something I wanted and couldnt get anywhere else.
I like mininova myself. I used to use uTorrents but I just kept experiencing problems with it. Vuze works fine for me, so I’ll leave it as it is for now. I use eztv for US TV shows.
The High Court has appointed an examiner to the Golden Discs music retail group.
Sony Music Entertainment Limited had last week secured the appointment of an interim examiner after the High Court was told it was owed €1.38m by Golden Discs. Sony said it was not prepared to continue to supply the outlets without court protection.
Golden Discs operates 20 retail outlets around the country, including six franchised stores.
Its financial advisor had informed Sony that the group was insolvent and had proposed a voluntary scheme of arrangements for creditors.
Today the court heard that the company had a reasonable prospect of survival if certain cost reduction and efficiency programmes were put in place.
The court also heard that the company was in a cash positive situation and could meet its obligations during the examinership process.
Its current situation was due to a downturn in retail music sales with the onset of internet downloading, increased competition and the high cost of rents.
Other creditors in court this morning agreed to the appointment of the examiner.
Never really got into it, a friend usually just sends on music and movies to me.
How does it work. You download a torrent, and then you go into somewhere (Limewire or something is it?) looking for music etc.
Is that the jist?
You download the software first, then the individual torrents.
Rapidshare, Megaupload, Zshare etc are all pretty much the same thing, you enter a verification code and then D/L the file from their site.
Soulseek is excellent as well, great for getting rare music, you can literally directly access people’s music libraries in their computers.
Torrents for movies, RShare for music, Soulseek for hard to find stuff, basically.
Where do you get the verification code from?
Also is it more difficult to track sharing on Rapidshare than the likes of Vuze
i use torrentleech usually myself if i cant get what i want off that i usually try isohunt or mininova… joined irishtorrents but didnt take anything off it was hoping to get domino effect…probably end up getting a rapidshare account in the near future

Don’t know about that but certainly with rapidshare you’re not accused of uploading whereas with torrents you’re peer2peer so you’re sharing with others and I guess technically breaching more rules.
