I agree the only way I see max finishing ahead of Lewis (barring penalties and retirement) is perez getting ahead of Lewis and keeping him in dirty air for 10-15 laps. Allowing max to build up a lead and wear the mediums forcing Hamilton to stop a few laps earlier. Its a tough ask

As a nipper I got of bed to watch the 1990 Japanese Grand Prix live. The battle was over by the first corner.
I think I sort of watched Damon Hill winning in 1996 as well although I’m pretty sure I was drifting in and out of sleep during it.
Suzuka was nearly always the great showdown venue where the titles would be decided. I can still picture every turn of that track in my mind.
It’s many years since I had what one could term a genuine interest. 1999 perhaps when our own Edward Irvine almost did but didn’t win the title.
However I did happen to chance upon an interview with the great John Watson on Off The Ball a couple of years ago talking about his formative years in motorsport which I found very enjoyable indeed. I’d have a residual admiration for that Northern Irish devil may care automotive spirit, epitomised by John and by the likes of Irvine, Gary Anderson and in a wider sense by rallying’s Bertie Fisher and of course the rich Ulster tradition of road race motorcycling. RPM Motorsport hosted by Alan Tyndall at 10:50pm on Thursday nights on UTV was invariably a good watch, though I never much cared for the different “classes” in rallying, the Group N class I think was made up of cars which you had to pedal?
In a general sense I suppose I’d be a general well wisher of Lewis Hamilton but the whole thing seems so corporate and sanitised now - all the tracks seem the same and legendary venues like Hockenheim have been airbrushed - and there’s such a bang of sportswashing off it that it’s very off putting.
