I am bereft. A pitiful display. I’m sick of hearing that we don’t have the players. They’re all supposed to be professional footballers, they could at least pretend to be. Scotland have worse footballers than us and should have won that. The sooner Big Mick is installed as manager the better.
I don’t think I’ve ever been more disillusioned with Irish soccer. I’ve been a fan of the national side since 93/94 when I was 8 or 9 years of age. Everything about this campaign for me should have been a lot better, as the manager in place is decent, 2 teams automatically qualify from the group with the 3rd getting a play-off and we are more less out already with four games to go.
Talk of bringing Mick in for the next campaign is depressing, who’s going to replace the much maligned but dependable O’Shea or Robbie’s goals against the minnows. The game needs a massive overhaul at schoolboy level here and trying to rely on second rate English born players with the number of overseas players in the PL now is a joke.

I also drove by your apartment block at around 1:30pm and saw a bearded gentleman in an Irish jersey with a bag of cans waiting to be admitted to the building and thought to myself “I wonder if that’s one of my internet pals”.
Another thing ! 24 teams in the euro championships in soccerball : Is this a bigger dumbing down that leaving cert honours maths ???
