Draw made. Djokovic seeded to face Nadal in the quarter finals. Andy Murray seeded to play the winner of that in the semi final.
Dimitrov continues to underwhelm. Knocked out 1st round by Jack Sock. In 19 Grand Slams, he’s only made two quarter finals - Australia 2014 & the semi final at the 2014 Championship.
Of the top 24 seeds Dimitrov and Feliciano Lopez only casualties in the first round. Everyone else through. A few of the minor seeds 25-32 have also gone.
Line up for the last 16 complete
Novak Djokovic (1) -v- Richard Gasquet (20)
Jack Sock -v- Rafael Nadal (6)
Andy Murray (3) -v- Jeremy Chardy
Martin Cilic (9) -v- David Ferrer (7)
Kei Nishikori (5) -v- Teymuraz Gabashvili
Jo-Wilfried Tsonga (14) -v- Tomas Berdych (4)
Stan Wawrinka (7) -v- Gilles Simon (12)
Gael Monfils (13) -v- Roger Federer (2)

Starting to get interesting now. Can’t wait for the djokovic/nadal quarter final.
Nadal will have had four very soft games under his belt by then. In fact he’ll be the only player who’s made the last 16 who won’t have had to face a seeded player in first four rounds. Probably could have done with a hard game to improve his form. Murray was very good this morning and could have every chance of beating winner of Djokovic/Nadal.
Reckon Monfils will beat Federer tomorrow.

If Sock can play like he did against dimitrov he could make things difficult for Nadal. Would still expect nadal to win.
Hard to know what Monfils will turn up. If Federer can get over him he will have a clear run to the final. While djokovic, Nadal and murray will be knocking lumps out of each other in the other half.

Federer looked to have a clear run to the final in both Australia and the US Open as well but lost to Fognini and Cilic. The issue is at nearly 34, its just too much of an ask 7 matches, every second day, best of 5. He’s bound to trip up somewhere. Monfils has won their last two meetings and it really should be last three as he had match points at the US Open before ultimately losing.
Monfils is 2/1 to win. I’ve bet on him winning on the back of your analysis. Manni.

A clear run to the final if he beats Monfils? I would be expecting Wawrinka/Tsonga/Nishikori/Berdych would have something to say about that.
Nishikori has never beaten Federer and I think last year’s win in Monte Carlo was Wawrinka’s only win against his Swiss compatriot in close to 20 matches. I’d expect Federer to take care of either of those if such a meeting comes to pass.
Tsonga & Berdych have caused the Great Man problems before. Both in fact have two Grand Slam wins apiece over him - Berdych at the 2010 Championship and 2012 US Open and Tsonga at the 2011 Championship and 2013 French Open.
Tsonga making light work of Berdych here. A set up and 5-2 up in the second.
Tsonga is sensational when he’s on song and can beat anyone on his day. He was incredible two years ago when he beat Federer in the quarter final and then went out the next day and lost to journeyman David Ferrer in straight sets.
Commentators were saying Berdych has a back injury which my explain why he is so shit today.
Bit of a fight back now from Berdych.
Tsonga is now doing his best to loose this match. Wawrinka has win the first set in 25 minutes.
Tsonga has broken back now in the 4th, back on serve at 3-3.
Monfils takes the 2nd set 6-4 to level it up at 1 apiece.
Keep us posted please mani.
Play suspended for the night after the 2nd set. Back on court in the morning.
